A Guide to OOH Formats

Purchasing an out-of-home (OOH) ad can be overwhelming. With so many options, how do you know which fits your message best?

Consider this your starter pack: here are some of our most popular formats and the highlights of each, so you can pick the perfect ad.

Static vs. Digital

Static

Your ad is a physical vinyl posted to the board, and it’s the only one displayed.

Digital

Electronic ads that run about 8–15 seconds per cycle, usually shared with a few advertisers. No production or installation costs—once we send your creative to the vendor, it can start running!

Timeline: traditional formats like billboards and posters typically run in four-week cycles, but this is customizable. Talk to one of our representatives about your desired timeframe.

Our Most Popular Ad Formats

Bulletins (Billboards)

The classic: big, bold ads in high-traffic areas like cities and highways.

Static + Digital

Posters

Slightly smaller and lower to the ground, easier for city traffic to see, and usually less expensive.

Static + Digital

Junior Posters

Smaller still and closer to the ground, ideal for street traffic and pedestrians.

Wallscapes

Massive ads on the sides of city buildings, among the most noticeable OOH formats.

Static + Digital

Digital Billboard Trucks

Giant screens on trucks, sold in 8-hour cycles for as little as one day, following your route within a 20-mile radius. Sound and video supported.

Urban Panels

Freestanding sidewalk kiosks that are impossible for pedestrians to ignore.

Static + Digital

Transit Shelters

Ads on bus shelters, seen by riders and passersby, with long impression times as people wait.

Static + Digital

Bus Benches

Ads on the backs of bus stop seats, right in front of viewers, making phone numbers and URLs easy to read.

And That’s Not All

Believe it or not, there are even more advertising options. Visit BillboardsIn.com to see what’s possible for you!
