SYGMA is a food distribution company that provides frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods for some of the most notable chain restaurants. Their clients include Burger King, Panda Express, and Cold Stone Creamery among others. SYGMA resides under a parent company called Sysco. You might’ve seen a Sysco truck or worker if you’ve spent time around one of your local restaurants.
SYGMA, located in Stockton, CA, is currently looking for drivers to deliver goods to these popular locations, specifically drivers with a class A license. Drivers with over one year of driving experience are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Drivers with less than one year’s experience are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
The work is described as being very physical, with delivery drivers unloading between 1,000 and 1,500 pieces per night. Deliveries are primarily made overnight, and drivers will be traveling across the northern California region, Lake Tahoe, and Reno. Each driver is equipped with a two-wheeler handcart that will be used to unload the products into the restaurants.
To speak more about the job position, SYGMA HR generalist Krissy Bautista said, “Basically, our drivers unload a fully packed 48-foot tractor-trailer during each route, by hand, either by themselves or with a partner.”
During training, those with a CDL will be paid $1,200 a week as long as they don’t take off work during that time. After training, SYGMA offers a weekly minimum pay starting at $1,350. Overall, drivers are said to make 102k a year. In terms of benefits, the company offers 4 different medical plans, dental and vision insurance, 401k, and more.
SYGMA is currently accepting walk-in interviews on Monday – Friday from 9 am-3:30 pm at their location at 3741 Gold River Lane Stockton, CA 95219. Or, applicants can go to www.SYGMAnetwork.com.
