Delaware is known as The First State because it was the first state to ratify the Constitution and is home to over 900,000 residents. It is bordered by Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The capital city is Dover which has a population of 150,000 people. The major highways running through the state are I-95, US 9, Us 13, US 40, and Delaware Route 1. As for air transportation, most locals use the Philadelphia International Airport. Delaware is also home to universities including Delaware State University and Wilmington University. Other than the First State Monument, tourists come to the state for the many museums, wildlife parks, and several annual festivals.
